For TL:DR version, read last two sections.

I did not see any post on this and figured I should share it with the forum. It's likely the most valuable information I've received for progressing in the game. Few things to understand first:

The most effective use of energy is for gold is to auto run b7 dungeon or higher. The minimum amount of gold per a gem seems to be at least 7,000 gold and can sell for as high as 36,000. There is also a decent chance to find a high secret egg (a 130k gold value).

Energy is the most effective astrogem purchase. If you consider a high secret egg to be 130k (the price to buy and hatch the eggs in the secret shop), the value of the 600 gem secret egg purchase is 2,433gold per astrogem. Energy purchase is 40 gems for 70 energy, 10 runs of b7+ golem. The minimum value is 2kgold per astrogem, but only takes about 17,500gold extra in ten runs to exceed the payoff of 600gem purchase (433 gold over energy payoff minimum * 40 gems). Consider that you have great odds to find a high secret egg (130k value) at least once every 20 runs.

How gem farming works: Make a non-variant king slime and add a variant. Next, add a variant to the fully evolved king slime. You can repeat this process by making a new king slime and adding the variant king slime that you just made. This process costs 335k gold per a slime and gives 160 gems. You can add other variant slimes you find for 5k gold to net another 60 gems, providing it's under 5% leader skill.

So, infinite farming is simple. For 335k gold, you can make 160 gems. For 160 gems, you can buy 280 energy. With 280 energy, you auto farm golems.

This method works with all 1* catchable mons, so slime, mimic, and sparklers.

You can also do extreme mode gold areas instead of golem dungeons if you want to use it to farm rare astromon (like Jacko); you won't make as much gold as golem B7+, but it should be around enough to at least break even and allow you to farm infinitely.

Any word on possible new update needing gem farming? Heard possibility that there will no party never be a quest for adding variant. However, some say that it there is still a quest, but only if the mon is a non-variant to start with.

Unfortunately, this topic is outdated. You no longer get 60 gems for feeding a variant astromon to an evo 3 astromon, which makes this method impossible.
